There is a version of Patagonia that most travelers never experience. Autumn offers a more revelatory encounter, when the lenga forests copper over, lake surfaces go mirror-still, and the granite towers of Torres del Paine seem to hover between worlds.

This is the Patagonia andBeyond wants guests to see: quieter, slower, and more cinematic. Its new small-group photographic expedition, limited to eight guests, is anchored by a deceptively simple premise: the best images are made by those willing to slow down.

“Patagonia has a way of reminding you that the landscape is always in charge,” says Pedro Barraza, andBeyond’s Managing Director for South America. “This journey is about slowing down enough to really see it.”

Over eight days in April 2027, guests are invited to move from Santiago into the national park. This covers working viewpoints above Grey Glacier, tracing the Serrano River, and sitting with the light on Lake Pehoé.

From there, they will be heading north to Pucón and the Araucanía region, where volcanic ridgelines and ancient araucaria forests open up an entirely different grammar of scale. A scenic charter flight, meanwhile, offers a rare aerial perspective. An Adobe Lightroom session at andBeyond Vira Vira Lodge rounds out the week, giving guests space to sit with what they’ve made.

The journey is hosted by Timothy Dhalleine, a French photographer and filmmaker who has lived in Patagonia since 2013. His portfolio spans the breadth of Chile, from the Atacama to the southern ice fields, and his recent work includes The Present, an award-winning documentary following a young man with Huntington’s disease cycling from Mexico to Patagonia, and a film chronicling legendary climber Sir Chris Bonington’s return to Torre Central del Paine, 62 years after his historic first ascent.

Under Dhalleine’s guidance, the expedition an experiential photography workshop and an extended exercise in attention. Rates begin from USD 16,890 per person. More information here.
