These Nine Philippine Hotels Earned Michelin Keys for 2026

Nine hotels and resorts in the Philippines have earned distinctions in the 2026 Michelin Key selection, marking a notable expansion of the country’s presence in the guide. Two properties received Two Michelin Keys, while seven were awarded One Michelin Key.

The results place city hotels in Manila, Makati, and Cebu alongside island retreats in Palawan, Siargao, Negros Occidental, and the Sulu Sea. The Philippines had five Key hotels in 2025; its 2026 total now stands at nine.

Michelin describes One Key as “a very special stay,” while Two Keys denote “an exceptional stay.” Three Keys, the guide’s highest hotel distinction, recognize “an extraordinary stay.” Like Michelin Stars for restaurants, the Keys are awarded following anonymous and independent inspections.

The Philippines’ Two-Key Hotels

Raffles Makati advanced to Two Michelin Keys after receiving one Key in the previous selection. The 32-suite hotel occupies a more intimate position within Makati’s central business district, pairing residential proportions and butler service with access to restaurants, bars, and cultural spaces within the wider Raffles and Fairmont complex.

Joining it at the Two-Key level is El Nido Resorts Lagen Island, a new entrant to the Key selection. Located between a limestone cliff and the waters of Bacuit Bay, the Palawan resort is surrounded by forest and reached by boat. Its setting, low-rise architecture, and access to El Nido’s lagoons and islands give it the character of a destination rather than simply a place to stay.

Seven Hotels Earn One Michelin Key

Three previous honorees retained One Key: Nay Palad Hideaway in Siargao, Fairmont Makati, and Amanpulo on Palawan’s private Pamalican Island.

Four properties received One Key for the first time: Nustar Hotel Cebu, El Nido Resorts Pangulasian Island, Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts, and Manami Resort in Sipalay City.

The additions broaden the geographical and stylistic range of the Philippine list. Nustar brings contemporary resort hospitality to Cebu, while Hotel Okura Manila interprets Japanese service and design within an integrated urban complex. Pangulasian Island adds another Palawan retreat to the selection, and Manami Resort brings Michelin recognition to the limestone coast of Negros Occidental.

Globally, Michelin’s 2026 selection comprises 2,832 Key hotels: 155 with Three Keys, 657 with Two Keys, and 2,020 with One Key. For the Philippines, the nine honorees present a persuasive picture of the country’s hospitality landscape—one defined by private islands, regional character, and increasingly accomplished city hotels.
