The business suit once settled the question of what a man should wear to work. Today, a single day might include a board meeting, a flight, dinner and several hours spent working somewhere that resembles no conventional office at all. The boundaries have loosened, yet the need to look authoritative, polished and appropriately dressed remains.

Louis Vuitton’s Formal Spring/Summer 2027 collection responds to that reality with a wardrobe designed to move among different settings. Created under Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams, it comprises ready-to-wear, shoes, bags and accessories divided into three categories: Timeless Business, Modern Tailoring, and Evening. The collection launches on September 3, 2026.

Three approaches to the suit

Tailoring begins with three structures already established within the house. The Gaston has the broadest cut; the Napolitana offers a slimmer line; and the Pont Neuf follows a more traditional, fitted construction. Available in ready-to-wear and made-to-measure versions, they allow the wearer to choose a silhouette according to build, preference and occasion.

Details provide the distinction. Suspended LV medallions, branded horn and metal buttons, embroidered patches and discreet Monogram patterns appear across silk, wool and cashmere blends. The signatures often reveal themselves at close range, allowing the cut and material to carry the initial impression.

The collection becomes more revealing when Williams moves beyond conventional suiting. Tracksuit jackets are made in smooth calfskin and felted wool, reversible wool and cashmere, or merino knit finished with Mini Monogram-stamped leather. Their upright collars can be zipped closed or folded open, giving a familiar sporting form several degrees of formality.

This approach continues into eveningwear. Tuxedo conventions appear in grain-de-poudre wool, satin accents and shawl collars, while double-knee panels, Monogram Flower rivets and sweater-like constructions introduce the visual language of workwear. Crystal Damier buttons, silk linings and beaded embroidery restore a sense of occasion.

Formalwear built for movement

Practicality is integrated most clearly into the outerwear. A three-in-one design combines a water-repellent wool-twill coat with a nylon Monogram vest and packable hood. The layers can be worn separately or assembled as weather and setting demand. Reversible gilets and water-resistant surfaces follow the same principle.

Shoes reinforce the balance between polish and utility. The Louvre and Mayfair families include loafers, derbies and Chelsea boots made with flexible, repairable constructions. The LV Aerogram collection extends the wardrobe into travel, with airport-tarmac markings informing bags such as the Fastline Backpack, Boarding Messenger, and Gate Briefcase.

Louis Vuitton’s proposition is ultimately one of coherence: Modern formality comes from understanding the room, the schedule, and the degree of ceremony each moment requires. The suit retains its authority, while the wardrobe surrounding it supplies the freedom to adapt.

The collection will be available on September 3, 2026 in Louis Vuitton boutiques, located at Greenbelt Makati, G/F, Greenbelt 4 (with extensions into Greenbelt 3), Ayala Center, Makati Avenue, Makati City, +63 2 7560 637 / +63 2 8540 2001; at Solaire, Ground Floor, The Shoppes, Solaire Resort and Casino, Aseana Avenue, Parañaque City, +63 2 7560 637; and NUSTAR Resort and Casino, Kawit Island, South Road Properties, Cebu City, +63 2 8540 2001.
