Louis Vuitton again asserts its reign at the intersection of art, design, and haute craftsmanship at Art Basel Paris 2025. For its third consecutive year as Associate Partner of Art Basel, the Maison unveiled Artycapucines VII—Louis Vuitton × Takashi Murakami—a new chapter in its celebrated series of artistic collaborations, presented in an installation as extravagant as it is transcendent. Set within the storied grandeur of the Grand Palais’s Balcon d’Honneur, the presentation is anchored by an eight-meter-high octopus—an otherworldly sculpture conceived by Murakami himself. Inspired by Chinese lanterns and the mythic Kraken, the installation’s luminescent form bathes the hall in dreamlike color. Its tentacles spill across the floor, adorned with the artist’s signature Superflat Jellyfish Eyes, an emblem of anxiety transformed into delight. The creature’s head glows with Murakami’s inimitable play between humor and dread, the whimsical and the monstrous. It is, quite literally, a portal into his mind. Within..
