They collaborate with renowned designers, creating masterpieces that captivate connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.

These limited-edition bottles are valued not just for what’s inside them, but as works of art in their own right. Here are ten exceptional designer bottles that exemplify the perfect fusion of craftsmanship and creativity.

1. Hennessy X.O. x Frank Gehry: Liquid Architecture (released 2020)

World-renowned for his avant-garde architecture, Frank Gehry brings his signature artistry to Hennessy X.O., commemorating the brand’s 150th anniversary with an exclusive decanter, limited to just 150 pieces. The bottle is encased in a sculpted bronze sleeve, shaped to reflect Gehry’s distinctive crumpled design aesthetic. It is then dipped in a 24-karat gold finish, creating a shimmering effect that symbolizes the play of light on the Charente River and the twisting vines of the Hennessy Maison.

Accompanying the bottle is a display stand (glorifier) and an elegantly shaped carafe, inspired by an upturned cluster of grapes. The set is housed in a custom-designed compressed cardboard case—an intentional nod to Gehry’s innovative use of corrugated cardboard in his furniture designs from the 1970s.

2. Hennessy X.O. x Kim Jones: A Couture Interpretation (released 2023)

Beyond its architecture-inspired transformations, Hennessy X.O. has also been reimagined through the lens of haute couture. In a collaboration that merges luxury fashion with fine spirits, menswear visionary Kim Jones, designed a limited-edition decanter for the Hennessy X.O. Masterpiece, sculpted to resemble the fluid drape of fabric.

The bottle is encased in a specially crafted aluminum shell with a matte finish, its sculptural folds and subtle metallic accents reflecting the meticulous artistry found in both high fashion and cognac-making.

Complementing the decanter is a custom-designed oak display stand, a nod to the barrels used in cognac aging, along with a sleek travel case that embodies the elegance of contemporary fashion accessories.

3. Chivas XV Collection x Balmain: Opulence in a Bottle (released 2021)

Under the creative direction of Olivier Rousteing, Balmain infuses Chivas XV with its signature aesthetic—bold, extravagant, and unmistakably luxurious. The limited-edition bottle is adorned with gold-embossed chain detailing and metallic armor, inspired by the fashion house’s iconic runway designs, which often feature intricate embellishments and opulent textures.

Chivas’ regal heritage is further reflected in the bottle’s striking gold and black casing, seamlessly blending elements of haute couture with the time-honored craftsmanship of Scotch whisky.

4. Hennessy Paradis x Loewe: A Fusion of Heritage and Modernity (released 2025)

While Hennessy expressions have often been encased in metal, Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe creates an impressive take on the Hennessy Paradis by designing a bespoke leather case that transforms the decanter into a sculptural masterpiece.

The case is handcrafted from the house’s signature leather, featuring intricate hand-woven detailing that resembles a ‘nest’. This is a subtle nod to the chestnut wood circles traditionally used to protect Hennessy Paradis’ most precious barrels.

5. Dom Pérignon x Jeff Koons: The Iconic Balloon Aesthetic (released 2013)

Haute couture brands are not the only ones who’ve created designer bottles for expressions—even world-renowned contemporary artists try to take on the challenge of crafting beautiful masterpieces out of whiskies and Champagnes.

Take Jeff Koons, for example—a contemporary artist that infused his signature playful, balloon-inspired aesthetic into Dom Pérignon’s Rosé and Brut. The bottles are encased in a striking magenta-hued shell, with reflective curves mirroring Koons’ iconic 8-foot “Balloon Venus” with its inflated form, transforming the Champagne into a statement piece of art.

Beyond the bottle itself, Koons also designed an exclusive presentation box to accompany the release. It features an image of Balloon Venus set against a dark backdrop, with its color tailored to match the cuvée inside—pink for the 2003 Rosé and golden yellow for the 2003 and 2004 Brut vintage Champagnes.

6. Château Rauzan-Ségla Vintage x Karl Lagerfeld: A Hand-Drawn Masterpiece (released 2011)

To celebrate the 350th anniversary of Château Rauzan-Ségla, Karl Lagerfeld—legendary creative director of Chanel—brought his distinctive artistic vision to the Bordeaux estate, designing a bespoke label for the 2009 vintage. Known for his impeccable attention to detail and ability to capture timeless elegance, Lagerfeld created an original hand-drawn sketch of the chateau, highlighting its vibrant and colorful façade. It also features the surrounding vineyards in elegant, flowing lines, infusing the design with Lagerfeld’s signature sophistication, while paying homage to the estate’s storied heritage.

7. Dolce & Gabbanna x Donnafugata: A Homage to Sicilian Craftsmanship (released 2023)

Dolce & Gabbana collaborated with renowned Sicilian winery Donnafugata to present Rosa, a rosé wine that embodies the essence of Sicily’s rich traditions and sun-drenched landscapes. The bottle design is a striking tribute to the island’s artistic and cultural heritage, adorned with intricate patterns inspired by Sicilian maiolica tiles, Baroque motifs, and the elaborate decorations of traditional Sicilian carts (carretti siciliani). Dolce & Gabbana, deeply influenced by Sicilian artistry, has frequently incorporated these motifs into its fashion collections, making the Rosa bottle a natural extension of the brand’s aesthetic.

The wine is housed in a beautifully crafted box that mirrors the bottle’s ornate detailing, further celebrating Sicilian craftsmanship. The packaging’s rich color palette of deep reds, blues, and golds, resembles the warm hues of the Mediterranean landscape. It also features design that reflects Donnafugata’s dedication to storytelling through visual art, a hallmark of the winery’s labels.

8. The Macallan Concept No. 3 x David Carson: A Graphic Transformation (released 2021)

The Macallan is celebrated not only for its exceptional Speyside whiskies but also for its dedication to artistry, from the distillation process to the intricate details of its packaging. For the third release in its Concept series, the distillery partnered with legendary graphic designer David Carson, known for his unconventional and experimental typography, to craft a label that fuses contemporary design with nods to The Macallan’s heritage.

Carson drew inspiration from the distillery’s estate in Scotland, creating a dynamic visual collage for the Concept No. 3. The label features bold red tones, symbolizing the influence of sherry-seasoned oak casks on The Macallan’s rich flavor profile. Deep blue hues evoke the flowing River Spey, while layered text and abstract elements mirror Carson’s distinctive approach to storytelling through design.

9. Moët & Chandon x Pharrell: Minimalist LuxuryLuxuryA lifestyle defined by exceptional quality, craftsmanship, exclusivity, and sophistication, encompassing the finest products, services, and experiences that represent the highest standards of refinement and excellence.Go to Luxury Glossary (released 2025)

Yoon Ahn’s streetwear-inspired design label, AMBUSH, has a long history of groundbreaking collaborations that extend beyond fashion, partnering with brands like Beats and Dior Men. One of its most striking ventures is with the prestigious French Champagne house Moët & Chandon, where Ahn introduces her bold, contemporary vision through a sleek, minimalist bottle design.

Breaking away from Moët & Chandon’s traditionally ornate aesthetic, Ahn strips the bottle down to its essentials, embracing refined simplicity. The all-white exterior is contrasted with a black reimagining of the brand’s iconic label, enhanced by metallic silver accents and a subtly embossed white emblem.

10. Rare Le Secret Champagne x Mellerio: High Jewelry Meets Prestige Champagne (released 2017/2018)

The esteemed French haute joaillerie house, Mellerio—renowned for its centuries-old craftsmanship and ties to European royalty—brings its artistry to the world of Champagne with Rare Le Secret. This exclusive collaboration transforms each bottle into a singular work of art, adorned with hand-crafted jewelry pieces that elevate the Champagne to an entirely new level of luxury.

Each decanter is embellished with intricate details ranging from delicate gold filigree to breathtaking diamond-studded designs, making every bottle a unique masterpiece. One bottle is adorned with an embossed 18-karat gold plate, while three others are wrapped in an ornamental gold and platinum bow, inspired by Marie Antoinette’s Rococo ribbons. It is finished with precious gemstones, including diamonds, rubies, sapphires, or emeralds. The ornate adornments are carefully crafted to complement the bottle’s elegant silhouette, reflecting the precision and refinement for which Mellerio is known.

These 10 extraordinary bottles transcend the boundaries of design, fashion, and artistry, redefining the way we experience luxury spirits. Whether celebrated for their heritage, innovation, or sheer opulence, each creation stands as a testament to the boundless creativity that elevates fine spirits into the realm of collectable masterpieces.
