Flying Tourbillon

A flying tourbillon is a tourbillon variant supported only from below rather than by a bridge on both sides, leaving the rotating cage visually unobstructed from above. Invented around 1920 by Alfred Helwig at Germany’s Glashütte school, it offers an unimpeded view of its mechanism.
