Bugatti’s Next One-Off Supercar May Be a Bolide and Tourbillon Mash-Up

Take, for example, the latest commission being worked on by Bugatti’s new Programme Solitare team. According to a new report from The Supercar Blog, the French marqueMarqueA brand name of a car manufacturer, particularly one associated with prestige, such as Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, or Aston Martin. News that Bugatti is already at work on its Programme Solitare model shows that its well-heeled customers are clearly interested in even more exclusive vehicles to choose from. The new hypercarHypercarAn extreme, limited-production performance car that sits above supercars in power, technology, price, and exclusivity, often featuring hybrid powertrains and advanced aerodynamics. Hypercars act as rolling engineering showcases, and modelsGo to Hypercar Glossary will be the third project from Programme Solitare, following the debut Brouillard, which was unveiled during last year’s Monterey Car Week, and the F.K.P. Hommage, which was shown off earlier this year.
Details, unsurprisingly, are close to non-existent at this point. It’s easy to see why the customer behind the commission would want to borrow from the two hypercars. The Bolide, which recently finished up production, is an untamed track beast with a skeletal design that’s extreme even by Bugatti’s standards. The website also reports that, like the previous two Programme Solitaire builds, it will be built on the Chiron platform.
