Jaguar’s new all-electric grand tourer was one of the most controversial debuts of 2024, and the company had plans to make it for 2025 before it was delayed. It’s still in the works, possibly for this year, with some specifications finally starting to emerge. The car, initially called the Type 00, was to be Jaguar‘s play at going ultra-luxury and competing with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce, after years (some might even say decades) in which the marque struggled to have much identity. The Type 00 gave Jaguar loads of new identity—being large, distinctive-looking, and very pink—but that identity wasn’t a universal hit with the purists, which is probably why Jaguar persisted anyway.
