In honor of International Museum Day on May 18, 2025, several museums across the Philippines are offering free admission and special activities to the public. This year’s theme, “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities,” emphasizes the evolving role of museums as connectors, innovators, and stewards of cultural identity. Here are some museums you can visit for free this weekend:

National Museum of the Philippines (Manila)

Experience a journey through Philippine art, anthropology, and natural history with free admission on May 18. Special guided tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Yuchengco Museum (Makati)

Open for free visits on May 17 and 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Yuchengco Museum showcases a diverse collection of local art, cultural artifacts, and design exhibits. Current displays include unbuilt works by members of the United Architects of the Philippines.

Ateneo Art Gallery (Quezon City)

On May 18, enjoy free admission from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At 2:00 p.m., the gallery will host screenings of five short films highlighting the vibrant Baguio art scene, offering insights into the region’s creative landscape.

AIMS Museo Maritimo (Pasay)

Dive into the Philippines’ rich maritime heritage with free admission on May 17. The museum offers interactive exhibits and immersive learning spaces that bring maritime history to life.

Metropolitan Museum of Manila (Taguig)
