Aman is heading for the edge of Baja. Amanvari, the brand’s forthcoming sanctuary on Mexico’s East Cape, is now accepting reservations ahead of its planned opening on August 1. Set within Costa Palmas, the private coastal community on the Sea of Cortez, the resort will introduce just 18 casitas and a limited collection of Aman-branded residences to one of Baja’s most elemental stretches of coastline. Its name, drawn from the Sanskrit words for “peace” and “water,” gives guests a better sense of the mood the property is trying to create. The East Cape is much wider and more dramatic than the high-gloss Cabo most travelers know. Picture beautiful deserts, estuaries, mountains, and, of course, the sea.
