Porsche Philippines Celebrates 30 Years of Generational Passion
Porsche Philippines marks 30 years of bringing a very unique type of passion to discerning enthusiasts, collectors, and drivers. Part of this celebration included showcasing a selection of very special cars, from amazingly maintained classics and ultra-rare models to the best of the modern Porsche lineup.
On hand at the series of 30th Anniversary events was a very special 911 Targa 4 GTS created to showcase the capabilities of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. This anniversary special was finished in Paint to Sample Pastel Orange, inspired by the color of the Philippine sun, and equipped with bespoke details including matching stitching and anniversary text.
Also presented to the Philippine market was the new 911 Turbo S, which I drove—quite happily and rather quickly—from Stuttgart to Munich. The new car features the most powerful series-production 911 Turbo powertrain to date, delivering 711 PS and 800 newton-meters of torque. That, however, is not the key point of this car. Rather, it is the significantly improved levels of handling and comfort that are drawing existing 911 Turbo S owners to make the switch—or add one to the garage. The new model lapped the Nürburgring around 14 seconds faster than its predecessor, and that improvement is not simply about power, but about handling and the ability to use the car. A supercar in a bespoke business suit remains a fitting description of the Turbo S.
Porsche Philippines became the official representative of Porsche in the country in 1995 and has helped shape one of Southeast Asia’s most passionate Porsche communities, contributing to the region’s emergence as a true hotbed of enthusiasm.
In deciding which vehicle would best portray its vision for this milestone anniversary, Porsche Philippines chose not to look solely to the past. Instead, it envisioned something that looked toward the future while combining everything enthusiasts love about Porsche. The result is a unique 911 Targa 4 GTS that reflects optimism, individuality, and ambition.
“This anniversary car celebrates an important milestone for Porsche Philippines. While we take pride in reaching this landmark, our greatest achievement has always been the relationships we’ve built along the way. It is this journey that inspired the creation of our 30th anniversary 911 Targa 4 GTS,” says Mr. Robert Coyiuto III, President and CEO of Porsche Philippines.
“More than a commemorative model, it is a tribute to our heritage while embracing the future of Porsche. The combination of Paint to Sample, heritage design elements, and the latest T-Hybrid technology reflects our desire to celebrate three decades of Porsche passion in the Philippines while looking confidently towards the years ahead.”
