Lexus Has Brought Back the IS Sedan as Stunning Green Limited-Edition
Guess who’s back—well, kind of.
Lexus has brought back its IS sport sedan in a stunning green—though only for a limited-edition run in the North American market. Rumors initially swirled last year that the IS 500 Ultimate Edition would be the last IS launched in the continent, but the brand put an end to that debate with this new launch.
The model is based on the IS 350 F Sport platform and, as we mentioned, is done up in a new green shade called Envious. That hue makes its way into the cabin as well: The shade pops up in green stitching on the black NuLuxe-trimmed seats, which come with Ultrasuede inserts. The interior also has a satin chrome-finished trim throughout.
In addition to that seating, the sport sedan will offer up some exclusive features that differentiate it from other 2027 IS models. It comes equipped with a handling package that includes a sport-tuned adaptive variable suspension and five drive modes (ECO, Normal, Sport S, Sport S+, and Custom). The technology package, meanwhile, has the capability to assist with both traffic jams and lane changes, as well as a front cross-traffic alert. Other details include a panoramic view monitor, a moonroof, intuitive parking assist, and triple beam headlamps. It’ll cruise on 19-inch black BSS forged alloy wheels, too.
Besides all that, the new Lexus offers up the same stats as its 2027 IS siblings. That means you can expect its power to come from a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which churns out 311 hp and 280 ft lbs of torque. Plus, you can opt for a rear-wheel-drive model (the Special Appearance LS does offer up a Torsen limited-slip rear differential, too), mated to a standard eight-speed automatic transmission, or an all-wheel-drive variant, paired alongside a six-speed automatic transmission.
Lexus has been mum on pricing for the new 2027 Lexus IS Special Appearance Package, though you can probably expect a higher cost than the 2026 IS 350 F Sport’s $49,345 starting price. The model is set to head to dealerships later this year. If you’re interested, you better move fast: Only 350 of these green beauties will be up for grabs in North America.
