Lamborghini Just Unveiled a New Gas-Powered Track-Ready Supercar

The Temerario Super Trofeo is planned to enter competition in 2027.

Lamborghini just unveiled a new non-hybrid race car for 2027 that will please the purists in more ways than one. The Temerario Super Trofeo is powered by a twin-turbo V-8 making 641 horsepower that’s mated to a six-speed sequential manual transmission. All that juice is sent only to the rear wheels, making the debut a race car with customers in mind. Lamborghini‘s new auto was unveiled this weekend at the Misano World Circuit in Italy. The car will compete in the marque’s customer racing events in 2027 and is a successor to the Huracán Super Trofeo, which also competed in Squadra Corse. “Lamborghini was not born as a racing brand, yet our customers—more than 1,300 drivers have competed in Super Trofeo—have constantly asked us for a product designed for the track,” Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s CEO, said in a statement. “Over the years, Super Trofeo and customer racing have become a true pillar of our long-term company strategy, strengthening the..
