Orient Express has teamed up with fellow French icon Guerlain to develop the aptly named Ocean Rebirth experience. Founded in 1828 by Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain, the maison has crafted top-tier perfume, skincare, and cosmetics for centuries and has launched spas at renowned five-star hotels, including Raffles London at the OWO, One&Only the Palm, and the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo. Guerlain is also behind the spa onboard Corinthian. It spans 5,380 square feet, with four treatment suites, a sauna, a relaxation lounge, a barber, a beauty salon, a fitness space, and a lap lane with open-sky views.
Such facilities are not uncommon on cruise ships—the floating hotels by the likes of Aman, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton all have them—but the new 14-day itinerary Orient Express and Guerlain have created gives seafarers a chance to dive deeper than one or two treatments.
Set over the course of a transatlantic crossing from Lisbon, Portugal, to Bridgetown, Barbados, the retreat is structured around a program focused on physical regeneration and overall balance, which covers everything from skincare and nutrition to movement, mindfulness, and longevity.
After an initial assessment, each guest is given a personalized program that includes a bespoke treatment protocol and a tailored nutrition plan, along with individual consultations and group workshops with five onboard wellness experts. You could practice breathwork with five-time world champion freediver Arthur Guérin-Boëri, learn all about regenerative nutrition with naturopath Déborah Passuti, or tone up with former ballerina Julie Granger, for example.
Guests will also have access to the latest and greatest wellness tools, including LongeviSkin, a unique device developed by Guerlain that combines seven advanced aesthetic technologies, including LED, plasma, and radiofrequency. Other highlights include Theragun devices and LED masks.
Beyond the spa, Corinthian offers up 54 suites ranging from 485 to 2,476 square feet, five restaurants helmed by Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, eight bars, a pool, and a marina across four generous decks. The 722-footer, which is the world’s largest sailing yacht by length, will embark on her inaugural season in the Mediterranean and the Adriatic in June, before crossing the Atlantic to spend the fall and winter in the Caribbean. Ocean Rebirth will take place from October 12 to 26, with rates starting at 60,200 euros, or about $70,400, per suite.
