The fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde just got its first owner. Bombardier delivered its inaugural Global 8000 private jet on Monday during an event at the brand’s Assembly Center in Ontario. It was there in Mississauga that Patrick Dovigi, a former Canadian hockey star turned businessman, snagged the keys to his new private jet, which will replace his current Global 7500. Dovigi is getting quite the upgrade. In addition to the Global 8000’s need for speed (its ability to hit Mach 0.95 makes it the fastest private jet on the market), the new aircraft offers what Bombardier says is the lowest cabin altitude in biz jet production of just 2,691 feet at 41,000 feet. Because of that pressurization level, passengers will experience less stress on their bodies and get more oxygen while onboard, which can help to reduce that persnickety jet lag.
