Poltrona Frau’s 2026 Collection, “True Over Time” Celebrates Authenticity Through the Years

To choose something that lasts, to value timelessness over novelty, and to pursue continuity rather than the ephemeral—these principles have long shaped the idea of authentic craftsmanship. Poltrona Frau‘s 2026 collection, titled True Over Time, embodies that philosophy.

Unveiled during Milan Design Week, the collection debuted at the Italian furniture house’s flagship store on Via Manzoni 30, just steps from landmarks including the Pinacoteca di Brera, Teatro alla Scala, and the Duomo di Milano.

For the occasion, the historic Palazzo Gallarati Scotti was transformed into an immersive exhibition. The various spaces within the flagship were reimagined through a visual narrative conceived by Studio Brigolin Baschera and styled by Simona Cremascoli, expressing authenticity as a defining principle of the Poltrona Frau universe.

Visitors are first welcomed by the living area, where the new Archibald Sofa System is paired with the Baldwin coffee tables by Ceccotti Collezioni, both designed by Jean-Marie Massaud. This latest evolution of the Archibald family introduces more generous proportions, sculptural silhouettes, and refined stitching that reflect today’s changing lifestyles, while the Baldwin tables bring greater versatility and functionality to the composition.

Displayed alongside them is the new DomusCove, a freestanding double-sided shelving system by Dante Bonuccelli, accompanied by two lighting designs. The first, Tullissè, created with Swiss studio Atelier Oï, features intertwined Pelle Frau leather straps that evoke the delicate folds of a ballerina’s tutu. The second, Gio Ponti Oro, revives an archival floor lamp distinguished by its tiered brass-anodized aluminium structure.

Further into the showroom, the night area introduces the LieLow bed by Faye Toogood. Its defining feature is a dramatic semi-circular headboard upholstered in Pelle Frau leather, complemented by matching bedside tables available with either drawers or open shelving that echo the bed’s sculptural language.

Nearby, Bonuccelli’s DressCove Night System continues the exploration of storage as architecture. The modular wardrobe combines shelves, drawers, and display elements into a sculptural composition, anchored by the oversized Kubaya poufs placed at its centre.

Providing contrast is the special-edition Albero GFF100 bookcase, created to mark the centenary of designer Gianfranco Frattini’s birth. It combines shelves crafted from the original Palissandro Santos with a structure in American Walnut Brown, paying tribute to one of Poltrona Frau’s enduring design icons.

In the dining area, the Abigail table debuts with a new “Ombra di Caravaggio” marble top, supported by four tapered solid-wood legs. Its restrained silhouette allows it to pair effortlessly with a wide variety of seating, including the Archibald Slim dining chairs and the marble-finished Zabriskie cabinet displayed alongside it.

The Gallery serves as the exhibition’s cultural centrepiece. Also on display are objects from the Beautilities collection, functional accessories that combine utility with artistry, including the Shiwa vases developed with Japanese ceramic artist Yuki Nara.

The Gallery also houses the Poltrona Frau Archive. Inscribed across one wall are key terms that define the house’s craft—from Ago Curvo and Capitonné to Imbottitura and Pelle—referencing specialised stitching techniques, upholstery methods, and the leather for which the company is renowned. Videowalls throughout the space show artisans cutting, folding, and stitching materials by hand, illustrating what Poltrona Frau describes as the “intelligence of the hands”: knowledge acquired over decades and passed from one generation of craftsmen to the next.

At Poltrona Frau, authenticity is ultimately presented not simply as an aesthetic, but as a way of thinking. Throughout the Via Manzoni flagship, every object and every detail argues that the finest design does not merely endure—it acquires meaning over time.
