A New Dandy Takes Shape at the Louis Vuitton Men’s FW 2026 Collection

Pharrell’s brand of neo-dandy trades excess for intelligence in a wardrobe built to move with the future.

Pharrell Williams has little patience for the present. At Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2026 men’s show, he looked a century ahead and dressed us for it.

Set within Paris’s Le Jardin d’Acclimatation, the showcase unfolded around the Drophaus, a droplet-shaped prefabricated home conceived with Not A Hotel, operating as both stage and statement. The space imagined a future where the Louis Vuitton man values craft over ostentation and intelligence over novelty. Inside, a custom scent by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud lingered in the air. Outside, the clothes presented a new kind of masculine elegance.

Williams’s second major act as creative director showcases a shaper, more suave, and sentimental version of his vision. The silhouettes noticeably evoke classic 1980s futurism (a decade that shaped Pharrell’s own sense of tomorrow) reimagined through softly tailored jackets, reversible nylon suits, silk shell parkas, and mock-neck base layers that hint at a “neo-dandy” look. LV’s camel, charcoal, and navy heritage hues hum with jolts of electric orange, retro blue, and crimson.

The opening reflective houndstooth suit sets the tone. At first glance, it resembles classic Savile Row tailoring with its clean jacket and straight trousers. Under light, however, the fabric reveals a woven sheen that flickers subtly across the surface. The grey herringbone overcoat follows a similar logic. It is cut long and relaxed, yet its reflective fibers introduce a glow that pop even more in the evening.

Tailoring continues to evolve through the reversible nylon suit. One side is matte while the other carries a slight sheen, both shaped with softened structure. Worn with the close-fitting mock-neck base layer, it shifts suiting into something lighter and more agile.

And yet outerwear is where Pharrell pushes hardest. The silk thermo-adaptive shell jacket, often shown in muted blue or stone, appears familiar at first. But its construction tells a different story. Engineered membranes allow it to repel water while maintaining a fluid drape. It holds its form even as the body moves. The aluminium-bonded car coat, too, offers a more experimental approach. Its crinkled surface reshapes with wear, creating a silhouette that evolves over time. In contrast, the cotton-poly parka with contrast lining looks back to the 1980s. Its updated construction keeps it light, precise, and far more refined than its reference.

This collection finds its most interesting expression in trompe l’oeil. A mushroom-grey blouson that appears to be terry cloth is, in fact, mink, presenting luxuryLuxuryA lifestyle defined by exceptional quality, craftsmanship, exclusivity, and sophistication, encompassing the finest products, services, and experiences that represent the highest standards of refinement and excellence.Go to Luxury Glossary in disguise. A silk windbreaker is cut to resemble nylon twill, stripping away the usual visual cues of value. These pieces invite a closer look.

The idea reaches its peak in the overdyed double-face vicuña trousers rendered in mid-blue. They resemble ordinary denim workwear, yet are made from one of the rarest fibres available. A burgundy vicuña hoodie follows the same philosophy, soft and weightless while remaining visually grounded. The gesture is subtle but pointed. LuxuryLuxuryA lifestyle defined by exceptional quality, craftsmanship, exclusivity, and sophistication, encompassing the finest products, services, and experiences that represent the highest standards of refinement and excellence.Go to Luxury Glossary here does not rely on recognition.

Shirting and knitwear extend the illusion. Lumberjack shirts are constructed from laser-cut flannel printed onto mesh, giving them the look of something rugged with a surprisingly light feel. Knitted tops mimic technical mesh. When stretched, they reveal a hidden Monogram embedded within the yarn. These are garments that change through interaction.

Footwear brings the ideas into sharper focus. The LV Drop sneaker stands out through its ripple-moulded sole, shaped to resemble water dispersing outward. Its upper, often in suede and peach-touch nylon, is composed of tonal panels that punctuate the collection’s neo-dandy motif. The Sierra boot introduces a more grounded option with its VVN leather and metal hardware, while the Hoxton monk shoe refines tradition through a softer construction that allows for greater flexibility. See, we can say that there isn’t an obvious crescendo. These are the kind of pieces that reveal themselves over time, which perhaps is Pharrell’s point. Don’t be surprised if this becomes the blueprint for LV moving forward.
