Diptyque’s Collection Has A Story Behind Every Bottle

One is often reminded to “stop and smell the roses.” This timeless adage gains a new, refined dimension with this collection that transforms nature’s treasures into an experience for the senses.

Les Essences de Diptyque Perfume collection

Diptyque has often drawn inspiration from the natural world. This tradition continues with their Les Essences de Diptyque collection. These five eau de parfum draw from coral, mother of pearl, water lilies, tree bark, and desert rose–elements which are almost scentless in their natural form, yet admired for their beauty.

“To capture these elements, we collaborated with some of the most talented perfumers in the industry—Fabrice Pellegrin, Alexandra Carlin, Nathalie Cetto, and the late Olivier Pescheux,” says Jessie Dawes, Chief Marketing Officer for the Americas at Diptyque. Each creation was embellished with the work of renowned architect Nigel Peake. The engraved bottles and watercolor-adorned packaging enhance Les Essences’ sensory experience. “By distinguishing this collection, we honor nature’s rare and exquisite elements in a manner that stands apart from our existing core line.”

Cetto says the fragrance is inspired by “the beauty of nature at its most unvarnished.” The scent is a blend of arabica, sandalwood, and tonka bean.

In the Sahel region south of the Sahara lies the desert rose, its vibrant pink flowers thriving despite the harsh conditions. The plant is the inspiration behind Rose Roche. Fabrice Pellegrin says he “wanted to capture the primal heat of the blistering desert winds with a scent reminiscent of hot, mineral sand.” The timeless scent of Provence rose is mixed with lemon and patchouli.
